This bug will probably last a while. To fix it, someone must write the "Folder
Options" control panel applet which I'm sure nobody is really eager to do.
Besides most programs change file associations themselves. Say you want AbiWord
not to open word documents, you want OpenOffice.org to. So you install AbiWord,
then install OpenOffice.org. AbiWord's file association gets overwritten by
OpenOffice.org's.
