Dear ReactOS Developers,
I am also completely new with ReactOS, but it sounds fantastic.
I have the same problems with my two notebooks.
Yesterday I downloaded the Live-CD 0.3.4 and started from it.
The GUI is shown and there a window with the title "Please wait..." and the
message text "Installing devices".
This is all I get.
No start menu or task bar is shown.
At home the Live-CD starts normally but there I can not test because I only
have a USB mouse and a USB keyboard.
No matter, I will get an PS/2 adapter and test it again.
Here at my two notebooks I dis-connected all external hardware (USB mouse, USB
keyboard, external monitor, etc).
Then I booted from the Live-CD and have these problems.
I have a
- IBM Thinkpad T41
- IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpad T60
If I can provide you with any additional information (system specs), please let
me know and I can let PCWizard let create a detailed report.
It would be cool if you have a "debug Live-CD" where a logfile is written on
C:\ (like c:\reactos.log).
I know that Live-CDs should not access local HDDs, but if this is a "Debug"
version where you point out that JUST THIS SINGLE LOG-FILE (C:\reactos.log)
will be created, then it is OK.
But these log-files would help you finding some bugs.
Please consider this idea.
Greetings
OLLI
