Oh man, I figured it out but it's WEIRD.

Basically, clicking the selection button to end a selection works in ReactOS,
but NOT XP.

At the same time, clicking outside of the selection to end a selection works on
XP (but only within the canvas), but NOT on ReactOS. (note that you should be
able to end a selection when even clicking outside of the canvas)


I've (attempted) to change the OS for this bug to Windows XP, but I'm quite the
newbie to bugzilla, so I may have failed.  I may need to file another bug for
the other de-selection issue.
