Well, that is a very common problem... I spent about one hour last week attempting to install Oracle 8i: the universal installer failed because TEMP variable referred a C:\TEMP that didn't exist. Of course no message about a non -existent directory appeared. :(

Error checking is the Achilles heel of every programmer.
