A little idea about the proposal to extend the error reporting.

What about *not* extending the related Win32 interfaces (or any other 
environment subsystem's): compatibility means MS docs + live MS Windows 
systems are the reference.

Today Windows is shipped in free and checked flavours: simply add a 
wider internal error reporting, for instance, by dumping all error 
context data in the event log, in the ROS checked build. Or design an 
intermediate flavour,

Free (production systems)
Developer (user mode developer systems)
Checked (kernel mode developer systems)

where there is not all the stuff that gets in in the checked one, but 
only the wider error reporting.
