It happens for me too if I have my ReactOS HDD present in VMware. If I 
remove it and have only the CD-ROM present it boots. Other serious 
problem is that I can't create the bootcd with the standard "make 
bootcd". It create the CD, but it doesn't contain "ntoskrnl.exe".
