Sure this has to be changed. MFC is not really the right thing for
kernel code.   ;-)
But I never said you would be able just to copy-and-paste it.

Curently there is no implementation in ROS. So every working algorithm
would make the situation better than now.
But why not use a better/faster/intelligenter algorithm if it is available?
