The sales system uses networking to update stock levels, etc. for each
branch, and there's a modem link which is used for updating stock levels
and do inter-branch transfers, and also for the manager to log in and
remotely control the systems.
The systems run Windows 98, with the sales application running in a DOS
session.
Are you seriously saying that we shouldn't include 16-bit application
support, for DOS or even Windows 3.1 apps? I've heard various stories of
companies having to spend lots of money to just migrate old databases from
MS-DOS applications, just so they can continue using them.
This results in possible incompatibilities, staff re-training (to use the
new system), and the newer application may be more unstable than the
original.

If their DOS system does the job, why would they need ReactOS?

You'd be surprised actually... Even the shop I work in uses a DOS-based
sales system.
I thought there were 16-bit IRQs? I remember reading something about them,
maybe it was 0 - 7 were 8 bit and 8 - 15 were 16 bit.
Can't really remember though...

Not impossible. Just not worth the trouble.
Btw. there is no such thing as a 16-bit interrupt.

I can't remember where or when, but I have observed some people discussing
how it was impossible for ROS to support 16-bit mode
programs. This is actually quite the opposite. In fact, wine has the
interrupt handlers already available on the current cvs in
wine\dlls\winedos.
Has anyone already completed the 16-bit interrupts? I hope this can be
delivered for the next release.
