Still this is Alpha softwares, but supposing that this is put off for
ages because it's "still alpha software" ? Then after many, many
revisions, someone re-reads this list, exploits this somehow, and where
is ROS? Stuck with another patch to make and another demerit. If ROS is
to adequately compete against Windows, we have to make strides where it
has made falls. Windows is widely considered to be buggy insecure, even
by it's friends, if ROS can show that an OS can be both Windows-like and
secure, it will win many friends. Fixing this now and setting the
precedent is a step there.
