mr Campbell,
nicest PNG is obtained through suspending the VM (the "||" button next 
to power-on button in VMware GUI),
and picking the PNG picture out of the Vm's harddisk directory.
Wow..192MB..I usually pick a DOS VM and set it to 20MB or so, which is 
workable.
just a suggestion, as a screenshot featuring the VM GUI adds no info.
VMware GUI still does not allow to save as PNG? Only BMP, if I remember 
correctly.
