Re: About ReactOS 0.4
So... ReactOS 0.4 is closer to being released... But I still think that it's early to release: system commit limit isn't implemented (Timo Kreuzer said he was working on that... no news yet) and it causes memory problems (not counting paging), flaking sound and Internet (TCP stack stops working, ho...

Re: A build to use serial ??
I've tried using serial ports a lot with ReactOS several years ago. You can find the links to several threads in the second paragraph on this page: http://turbocontrol.com/reactos.htm

Re: How install Microsoft Redistributable Package?
Thanks gonzoMD but I'd like to use a release version as I'm trying to develop an easy method for engineers (who aren't programmers) to try things to add to this page: http://controlpascal.com/
Maybe someone knows a simple SVN client that can be installed in ROS 0.3.17?

Thanks Swyter for the explanation. I think I'll stick with what I'm doing right now. I'm trying to develop an easy method for engineers (who aren't programmers) to try things to add to this page: http://controlpascal.com/

How install Microsoft Redistributable Package?
In ROS 0.3.17 I've tried to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 6 Redistributable Package in the ReactOS Applications Manager Libraries section but it doesn't work. It gives me a vcredist.exe but that does nothing when I run it. I need MSVCP60.dll for an app. See this page if you are interested: http:/...

Re: Need help with dwnl
Maybe the subject should be "how to download from sourceforge using dwnl"? Dwnl works with the same file that I put on my web page.

Re: Need help with dwnl
Any idea why dwnl http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin ... -setup.exe only give me a 58K file when it should be a 3.0 MB file?

Re: can we ever bring reactos to school??
I'm trying to get more educational stuff done with ReactOS. See this wiki page http://wiki.freepascal.org/Small_Virtual_Machines and also see the Levinux and Teensy stuff near the bottom of that page for other ideas.

Need help with dwnl
I've been working on the ReactOS section of this wiki page:
http://wiki.freepascal.org/Small_Virtual_Machines
Is there documentation on dwnl? Or easier ways to use wget and unzip? Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

Re: ReactOS on eBox and embedded systems
This message thread was started in 2011. If I haven't left a message for a long while, when I do it is separated from the older messages. It just happened a third time. Links to earlier message threads are posted on this page: http://www.turbocontrol.com/reactos.htm Thanks Webunny for your suggestion.

Re: ReactOS on eBox and embedded systems
I hope to test 0.3.17 soon. The equipment I'm working on might be similar to the Intel Galileo and Edison products? I searched the forum but didn't find many messages about using ReactOS on those Intel boards. Maybe I missed something?

I see that this (long) message thread was broken into two parts. You might check out the two forum links on this page that will take you to the original messages I left in 2011:

Re: ReactOS on eBox and embedded systems
I just tried the 0.3.15 release and it installs and the serial ports seem to work OK as long as I leave the cables connected all of the time (see other messages in this forum if you want the details). No default driver for the network was found but I hope to do more testing soon of this. I will then...
