Re:
This must be solved in ReactOS, too, so will not occur to somebody again. Sorry mightyken for hijacking your thread I got carried away for having the exact same problem. I solved it pretty much the same way, only with another tool. For diagnostics, I do have enough computers and serial links. I can...

Re: Installation won't boot
Its possible that freeldr didnt like the MBR already located on that HDD. For any diagnostics you`d need to set up a debug output via serial ports and null modem cable. So it would require another PC and both would need to be equipped with serial ports. Hi. Actually, the first step for me was to re...

Re: Installating ReactOS 3.8 problem with freeloader
%-) Solution: Do the same procedure a hundred times. Hi. Sorry, if something is wrong, doing it one hundred times won't fix it  I am having the same problem and something weird is happening: I am a regular Linux user, the disk I installed to put on Reactos already had a distro on it (don't kn...

Re: Reactos as Jukebox
Is your hardware equipped with COM port? Do you have, or can you get a null modem cable? If so, you could join our effort to get more soundcards working in ROS. It requires two things: getting debug output from your real hardware (thus null modem cable) and using own ReactOS build, that is bit twea...

jmmercy if its the one I am thinking with the compare of security it was discredited. 2004 report lots of useful stuff http://www.theregister.co.uk/security/security_report_windows_vs_linux/ I think it was a different one, I do not remember this. Anyway it could be based on it. My point there was n...

Re: ReactOS security!
Hi guys. There are a couple of things to remember: 1/ Windows NT X.XX is not inherently insecure. Most of the problems come from bad marketing choices like ease of use versus security. This means, as far as I remember, that software contributors were never pushed to make their programs work for norm...

Pretty sure he did that on purpose  You bet I did! Anyway, there are a few different problems there. First of all, ROS is designed currently with compatibility in mind which would indicate that 64 bit mode is not an absolute requirement. XP mode is still the main mode of operation for most pr...

Hi. I am not really sure the problem is with the compiler. As OIAOHM mentionned, Linux people have been struggling with the problem since 1996. We have to remember that it is a moving target and that the compiler is only part of the problem. The library that is NOT the compiler and links with any pr...

Reactos virtualisation.
Hi to all. In these days of virtualisation, and as a linux main user, I had a look at the concept of virtualisation through Xen. They were able to modify a XP version and have it to run properly under the Xen hypervisor (along with other OS'es). The way they seem to have this acheived was to modify ...
