Re: Why must the raspberrypi be so proprietary? I think this is especially unacceptable for a device that is intended fo

Rajjones, consider making your complaints to the Raspberry Pi people directly. By searching the Internet and following promising links I discovered that the source code for the Raspberry Pi GPU boot code includes this statement: "Copyright (c) 2006, Broadcom Corporation." From that, I conclude that ...

Re: Is 0.4.10 on track to be released today?

Generally the ReactOS Project has no target dates for anything. Whoever slipped up and suggested a target date for the release of version 0.4.10 would probably be in for a thrashing if Z98 were around more often.

Re: Printer Support

Are any printers supported ? If so, which ones? Hello gh4wi. Thank you for experimenting with ReactOS then making an informal report of your results. The Support forum is the appropriate place for the questions you asked. Browsing the ReactOS Wiki can provide the answers to your specific questions....

Here is an opinion column by Swapnil Bhartiya at CIO magazine: Linux is the largest software development project on the planet: Greg Kroah-Hartman How one measures the size of a software development project is an open question. Is the headcount of the project the measurement? Linux has a lot of cont...

Re: React OS Boot/Installation problems

"Installation instructions"?! Why do you think they call it code ?* Unfortunately, the ReactOS project's installation instructions are a hidden treasure. I searched the ReactOS.org home page (front page) using the strings "instruction", "installation", and "release notes". The search engine returned...

Re: Bundling of firmware in ReactOS update.

Unless someone is close to releasing a ReactOS Update client and server, this discussion is a bit premature, isn't it? I don't expect to see a ReactOS Update feature until some years after ReactOS has been released for production use. Maybe never. I expect that ReactOS will always require a skilled ...

Re: Hi to everyone!

I searched the ReactOS forum using the search string "82810". All the results returned that weren't part of this topic were from a 2004 topic named "Hi to everyone". The first post in that topic appears to be a word-for-word copy of this topic's first post.

Re: Let the hype begin

Referring to someone else's work without so much acknowledgement as a link to the web site you took it from shows a lack of culture. " Let us stand on each others' shoulders; not each others' toes. Re: Disable "Drag and Drop" option

...I meant "(is there) an option in ReactOS or Windows XP to (do) that and if yes where is it?". To answer such a question, I search the ReactOS web site first. If I cannot find an answer (or even a clue) there, I search the Internet. I assume that the ReactOS way to do things is usually similar to...

Re: Your most wanted feature for the next Hackfest?

...the title ... now says "Your most wanted feature for the next Hackfest." Using "2019 Hackfest" instead of "next Hackfest" would have avoided the confusion. I expect that after the 2019 Hackfest, maybe years after this thread is long dead, some necroposter will start speaking to this thread about...

Re: Disable "Drag and Drop" option

ReactOS's design target is Microsoft Windows 2003, which is very similar to Microsoft Windows XP. To maintain compatibility, ReactOS often implements a feature in a very similar way or uses a comparable registry entry. I searched the Internet and found this article. This article and its comments wil...
