Re: Media player Classic on Github

What I see eventually happening is Rapps being integrated into the installer. You can just check off the programs you want installed, and as soon as it loads up your network driver, it will download them. Once setup finishes installing ROS, it silent installs the downloaded apps. Heck, if setup can ...

They are probably still doing tests, might even have a last couple of bugs to resolve before it's done.

I would suggest posting specific ones if you think they might be useful.

Re: Website Revamp: Your feedback is very needed !

I have noticed the Wine compatibility DB has a lot more functionality than the ReactOS compatibility DB. http://www.reactos.org/compat/?show=version&id=646 -it is nearly the same (?) I don't know what to say to that. They are not nearly the same. They are not even remotely the same. The WINE on...

Re: 0.3.15?

http://www.reactos.org/wiki/ChangeLog-0.3.15 many Core Developers in this wiki page allready left the project, and I think it is important to add every patch submitter. I believe it's still a work in progress. There are sections that haven't been filled yet and some text that's orphaned. I did see ...

I have noticed the Wine compatibility DB has a lot more functionality than the ReactOS compatibility DB. The source code is available and it's written in PHP.

Re: How does Microsoft's patent on the taskbar affect ReactO

Wow, I don't know what your guys's problem is, but you have a really bad attitude. I saw you say you're on the PR team, if everyone shares your opinion, it's no surprise ReactOS has been making less headway recently (publicly speaking). You say that ReactOS could never dominate Windows. Do you reall...

Re: do you think windows 8 will be what

Only if they actually take advantage of Microsoft's train wreck. Heck, they could approach Valve (publicly denounced Windows 8), one of the big OEM's (HP, Toshiba, Dell, Acer, all will lose sales because of this), or any large corporation that has a ton of machines running windows (and doesn't mind ...

Re: How does Microsoft's patent on the taskbar affect ReactO

Brent, you simply don't have a legitimate concern here. There are no lawyers on this forum, so discussing things like this here is pointless, and only serves to stir up Fear, Uncertainty, and, Doubt. I suggest that the mods lock this topic. I think that, just because you don't like a topic, is no r...

Re: How does Microsoft's patent on the taskbar affect ReactO

Why are we continuing to discuss this? The "Start" menu was a fairly obvious thing. Because there is never any discussion here about violating Microsoft patents, despite all the patent lawsuits going on right now? At any rate, prior to 1995 most Unix's had a "right-click" (or so...

Re: How does Microsoft's patent on the taskbar affect ReactO

My worry is more that it specifically mentions a "Start" menu. Mac OS doesn't have a comparable start menu (just the dock and finder), and Linux usually has a series of menus. I don't know of any Linux distros before 95 that had an actual start-like button (like KDE does, IIRC). You must ...

Re: ReactOS UAC suggestion

From what I understand, getting a UAC prompt opens up kind of a "virtual" desktop (like it does when you hit ctrl-alt-del and get the screen where you can start task manager in Windows 7). That's so other programs can't approve the UAC prompt. Turning it off would theoretically allow malwa...

Re: User created News on ReactOS development

Use more BB code. Make bold section titles, use lists, use quotes/code for some items. Really helps break it down, people tend to skim/skip over walls of text. If something like this was to become a regular thing, I would want mods to lock the topics something like 2 weeks after the creation date (t...

Saw an interesting way of handling Donations on Synergy

http://synergy-foss.org/premium/ Synergy is a FOSS program that allows you to use your Keyboard/Mouse across multiple computers over a network (when you have two computers side by side and want to move smoothly between them). On their donation page, they give donators points to use to vote for featu...
