Re: Preinstalled MIDI driver with sound bank on ReactOS?

Just finished testing out the sf2 bank... It is very good for General MIDI. Especially for old games like Tyrian 2000. With XMPlay MIDI plug-in (same engine as BASS) it gives very high results, even at current size. There are several soundfont banks I would also recommend to use along with it, if an...

Re: Preinstalled MIDI driver with sound bank on ReactOS?

I winced when I read that. ASM... even worse... NASM! OK, this will be a mess to make in any way portable to other arches.... There is a fully-functional SELF-CONTAINED C++ version of the synth, along with ASM version. Yes, it's portable, proven by qmmp team and others who made input plugins for va...

Re: Preinstalled MIDI driver with sound bank on ReactOS?

Speaking about space minimization, several years ago I've proposed ROS team to adopt _kb's (Farbrausch) v2 procedural synth as default virtual MIDI device. The code license was unclear back then, but now it's available in both Assembly and C++ versions under Public Domain: https://github.com/farbrau...

Re: Pale Moon in ReactOS?

what's wrong with staying on older release of PM (serious question)? YouTube, Tumblr, SoundCloud, <insert other popular media here>. I could use a custom Chromium build for those, but it eliminates the whole point of having a single tool for everything (besides, the plugins I use do not exist nor w...

Re: Pale Moon in ReactOS?

Honestly, I would like to see Palemoon on XP as long as it builds. From a die-hard power user's perspective, if a piece of software fails to work under NT 5.x series, it is a crapware unworthy of installation even on NT 6.x. NT 6.x itself brings nothing of "valuable" to power users and foc...

Re: Preinstalled MIDI driver with sound bank on ReactOS?

Although I use VSTi version of Yamaha SXG-50 (MU50) in most cases, I'd like to test this soundfont. I don't see the download link at your homepage, though. :|

Re: The Sims 2 - ReactOS?

It's strange that Sims 2 isn't able to run in ROS, since the game has a full software render fallback mode (albeit very slow). All you need is a properly initialized Direct3D for that.

Re: [suggestion] Microsoft Agent alternative: Double Agent

Resurrecting this topic. http://sourceforge.net/projects/doubleagent/ This thing should eventually be included in the ReactOS codebase, because of two simple reasons: 1. It will allow applications which require Microsoft Agent API to work in ROS. 2. It will allow to implement search feature with &qu...

Re: Call for Testing: Shell Bringup

Bugs I've found so far:

* The child popup menus of Start Menu keep flashing (forced redraw?) when the new item is selected
* When the Start Menu's sub-menu is about to switch to displaying another sub-menu, Explorer freezes for about 1 second before showing it
