That is a very simple poll.Just vote and discuss.
-uses Ubuntu+GNOME 3 GNU/Linux
-likes Free (as in freedom) and Open Source Detergents
-favors open source of Windows 10 under GPL2

NO, because an NT-OS doesn't have any DOS Parts. maybe the code could be used to find some thing for the command line tool, which is something like a little DOS.
But i think that FreeDOS is coded in ASM, and ROS in C.

If you add "If we were developing ReactOS, would we " on the beginning of the poll title, you may not be disappointed with the result.

ReactOS is a project aimed towards cloning Windows NT. DOS is not NT. Therefore, an NT-DOS hybrid should not be attempted.

NT is much more sophisticated and secure than DOS is and mangling it (in order to run legacy applications) would make the whole point of NT's improved design pointless.

If this happens at all, it should happen in a fork. Alternatively, users could look to E/OS or WINE.

it was also possible to boot linux, beos and the NT-Setup from DOS but they dont use ANY parts of DOS ... they used bootloader that replaced DOS in the memory ...

4. Supporting other System Applications

The Windows NT architecture allows for subsystems, as does the ReactOS architecture. A subsystem is an implementation of the APIs of another operating system, allowing ReactOS to run applications from other systems. We are already looking at subsystems for: Java, OS/2, and DOS and possibly others in the future.

I thought we had already removed that statement from the site? Or are you digging that up from the archives site?

The section with subsystems was removed because it's not gonna happen ever or because it's not gonna happen for a few years from now?

That probably will depend on the number of developers, who will join the project in a few years from now, and on what they will want to do. :)

Hy,

humm, in my oppinion shold run dos like bash, but as service for making a telnet or ssh connecting
and maybe to make startdisk's with fat/ntfs-support for have 16 bit to administration hardware
or how ever.. dos, freedos als so isnt bad, but it mus have intelligent application.. it is fact to give
prop. Dos, Freedos and maby manny eyes be not the "in time system" but it is not bad to have..
or even the possibility to install in Reactos as Service to make a telnet/ssh connect ...
it is not even must be to have a grafical Gui.. some times it is be good to have a cli
with fastand not needed fad bandwide so it is enabling to use a old 56k modem too,
to make some administration things..... or old things  per telnet *lol*
It can think me to be possibility to have a bootmenuentry, to start in "FreeDos" with some fs-support
who use the fs-support from reactos.. so only as idea to have a possibility to take a other
way to debug in cli.. like old way's/times..old games or how ever.. as secure 2. System ...
to enabling to not boot in reactos and change some files like in the Win95 times without mus run Reactos..
to make possibility to have highes flexibility on the ...Hardware.. System...

these can be with a installable Freedos or maby freedos32 as 2nd runtime/system
on personal computers who can run as service by running Reactos and as standalone-system
by starting with the bootmenu of Reactos .. who whant to have this one, they shold try to contakt the
Developer of Freedos and the developers of Freedos32.. but once must be clear,
it is not an reactos-project, it is must be a addon-project for reactos..
so like brother/syster-system-project of Reactos for adding FreeDos to
Reactos as Standalone Project.. I would welcome such a project if start like this
to have a real dos like oldtimes :) it's only so an idea

best regards
Blacky

p.s.: take a look on this one, terminator
