I'm not really serious but if you search for "occupy Microsoft" it has been mentioned quite a lot already.

It might just be some fun marketing...

I don't think, that mentioning Microsoft in this context can help in promotion. Just because Reactos ideology is not the same as Microsoft ideology. We should create our own world - free, peaceful, wonderful and...with ROS children. To make our virtual community more human.

Well, there could be other Occupy themes we could use for promoting Reactos:

Occupy Code Street (instead of Wall Street)

Occupy PC

Occupy OS - Hey, might be a good name for an OS if we had started this year. But then again, the Occupy movement has some negative press and connotations too. Sanitation has been a concern, and we don't want our OS associated with bugs. Sexual assaults have happened at a few camps, and some OS users feel they are, figuratively speaking, getting enough of that already from software giants. Murders have occurred too, and we don't want our OS associated with killing PCs.

Yes, we have to keep this Occupy notion in mind as a virtual concept and not take it literally. I'd hate to see Reactos coders, testers, and fans sitting in jail, though maybe the warden would let them code in there. Really, instead of protesting and getting locked up, writing/testing code would be much better.

In my opion the best promotion will be the release of Reactos itsself. All what I can imaged (due to my own release tests), 0.3.14 will have great impact be ITSSELF, because things have grown well due to hard an concentrated work from devs, testers, and all other reactos-helper. Actually I tried some computers from friends and they all run live-cd r54377, you can play arround, Ros doesn't crash, what it did in former times. You can change video resolution and execute some small portable Apps, slipstreamed to boot-cd. How phenomenal is that ?

Let's see what will happen...hope 0.3.14 will yet come this year
