Ros&Raspberry Pi

Postby Webunny » Mon Jun 18, 2012 8:49 pm

Anyone checked out if Ros worked on Raspberry Pi yet? Is there any interest in getting feedback from this? I'm planning on buying one, so if there's any interest, I could have a go in trying out Ros on it...

Wut?? I thought there *was* an ARM port of Ros? :?

I'm pretty sure I read on the site/forum somewhere there was being made an ARM-port of it. So that is untrue, then?

Some effort has gone into an ARM port in the past, but it didn't get terribly far IIRC. There's definitely no current (or bootable) ARM port.

Not bootable is the right way to explain it. It's quite far already

Hmm...isn't that a bit like saying a new car is quite far in the manufacturing-process, but doesn't have an engine, and thus you can't drive with it? :| But, you know...isn't the whole point of a car...?

Ah, nm.

No Ros/Raspberry testing, thus.

Hmm...how are those spark plugs coming along, in fact?

The only thing which works great at the moment seems the bootloader (FreeLdr) on ARM. And that's all.

Better than nothing? More than I can accomplish. It doesn't seem like making ARM a priority is of high importance at this stage anyway.

It seems more and more computers are using ARM processors. If this is the trend, perhaps a reason for the port to ARM?
