I've been working on the ReactOS section of this wiki page:
http://wiki.freepascal.org/Small_Virtual_Machines
Is there documentation on dwnl? Or easier ways to use wget and unzip? Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

Re: Need help with dwnl
dwnl does what it tells you if you start it without parameters. It's no wget ^^
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

Any idea why dwnl http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin ... -setup.exe only give me a 58K file when it should be a 3.0 MB file?

Try this link:pbreneman wrote:Any idea why dwnl http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gnuwin ... -setup.exe only give me a 58K file when it should be a 3.0 MB file?
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin3 ... or=skylink
It down-loaded a 2.87Mb file!

Thanks oldman, that link works in my browser but not with dwnl.

Maybe the subject should be "how to download from sourceforge using dwnl"? Dwnl works with the same file that I put on my web page.

Re: Need help with dwnl
It has to do with how Sourceforge works, agent sniffing. dwnl uses WinInet with its default values, user agent included. That means that the server thinks an elderly version of IE is requesting the file and gives you the ad-showing HTML download page redirector thing instead.pbreneman wrote:Maybe the subject should be "how to download from sourceforge using dwnl"? The easier way so far is using RAPPS, which is already vaccinated against this kind of sneakiness. Open RAPPS once, click on Available, so that it grabs the officially sanctioned packages in the DB, then go to the %appdata%\rapps\rapps folder, open any .txt entry you aren't going to use and replace the name and URL fields (or create your own using another already existing file as reference).
Refresh RAPPS with F5, there's no need to reopen it (you are welcome), go to the right category, and double click. The package should download as normal. The only thing to keep in mind is that your custom packages will be flushed down the toilet the next time you voluntarily update the DB.
Have fun!

Thanks Swyter for the explanation. I think I'll stick with what I'm doing right now. I'm trying to develop an easy method for engineers (who aren't programmers) to try things to add to this page: http://controlpascal.com/
