I will be showing you how to add drivers to LiveCD's so you can use network or other hardware.
I tested this with a Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet card on my Compaq nx6325 laptop which this method worked
I also tested this with an Intel 21140 ethernet card in Virtual PC 2007 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13610
You will need several things:
1) Your XP driver for the piece of hardware
2) LiveCD ISO
3) UltraISO http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/download.htm
4) Blank CD
5) ISO Recorder Links below
5a) ISO Recorder for XP http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/v2.htm
5b) ISO Recorder for Windows Vista and 7 http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/W7.htm
6) Luck Your hardware might not work with your hardware and then a BSOD might occur
Step 1: put the driver files and the ISO in one folder
Step 2: Open up UltraISO and load the ISO
Step 3: Drag the INF file into the INF folder
Step 4: Drag the SYS file into the System32\Drivers folder
Step 5: I dragged the CAT file along with INF and SYS file
Step 6: Click the save button in UltraISO
Step 7: Burn the ISO with ISO Recorder

Good Luck!

Re: Add drivers to LiveCD
I don't think this works with audio. I will retry.
