Installing Latest ReactOS build on EasyreactIT Qemu-GUI

Post by Davy Bartoloni »

These are the steps to easly and quickly test ReactOS on every version of Windows;

First, you have to go to the download page of EasyReactIT ( http://reactit.altervista.org --> Download Section ); you'll need to use a version >= 0.27 to complete this tutorial.

Extract files from 7zip archive.

Run "EasyReactIT.exe", you can find it in "EasyReactIT" folder.

Now click on the line on the lower part of the window of EasyReactIT to open ReactOS ISO's download page, please be sure to download a BOOTCD-REL version (not DEGUG)

Once you've downloaded the 7zip archive, extract the ISO file (you can use Winrar, or 7zip it's the same, or simply double-click on it) and copy it into the "Put_CD-ROM_image_on_ME" folder, you can open it by clicking on "CD Folder" in the EasyReactIT window.

Once you have copied the ISO file into this folder (not the 7z file!), press "Update from CD" in EasyReactIT: QEMU will be executed and it will install ReactOS (on a 8.2GB HardDisk included in EasyReactIT)

Now, finish ReactOS installation (virtual machine will reboot twice) and you eventually have ReactOS installed and working on QEMU. (if you don't want to waste time reading installation instructions, just press ENTER 5 or 6 times and everything will install fine and in english)

A big thanks to S1501 who has helped me to improve EasyReactIT to make the installation more "intuitive". Thank you!

P.S. EasyReactIT is a freeware app
