Hi! I found very intresting software:
http://www.litestep.net/
What do you think about this project? Do we need to integrate LiteStep as explorer alternative?
In my tests is lighter and faster than original explorer.

No we don't.
Read the web about what ReactOS is and it will become clear what tasks the developers will pursue.
Litestep runs on Windows, it will run on ReactOS. No need to integrate whatsoever. If you want it, you can do it but it will never make its way into core ReactOS.

Re: Integration of explorer alternative
Install it on ReactOS the same way you install it on Windows, and see if it works.
If it does, it may make sense to add it to the Application Manager database at https://github.com/reactos/rapps-db
If it doesn't, see if there's already a bug report for the problem at https://jira.reactos.org/ -- if not, consider filing one (login is the same as for the forum).

I don't use litestep. My thoughts is that if u want linux, use linux, want windows, use windows.. don't mix them because they aren't made for it.

Litestep is just a replacement shell/explorer... Not sure what it has to do with Linux?Vilvet wrote:I don't use litestep. My thoughts is that if u want linux, use linux, want windows, use windows.. don't mix them because they aren't made for it.
Re: Integration of explorer alternative
'cause Litestep is inspired by busybox, bbox, lightbox etc. A linux/unix desktop

Re: Integration of explorer alternative
Sure, but running Litestep on Windows isn't "mixing Windows and Linux". Customizing Windows doesn't suddenly make it Unix-like; it's a silly argument IMHO.
Re: Integration of explorer alternative
Not to mention customizing windows in crazy ways can be useful and/or fun.
I ran lightstep for awhile on XP. Honestly it is easier on ram but not as convenient as the normal explorer interface.
Another weird thing to run is drempels. no idea if it runs on ReactOs though http://www.geisswerks.com/drempels/ good way to make yourself seasick by looking at your desktop wallpaper lol!
