Can't find the hard disk

Postby lib2 » Sun May 27, 2012 1:21 pm

Hi,

I tried to install the last iso of ReactOS to my hard drive but the installer said that could not find the hard disk.
The hard disk is a Samsung 1GB SATA disk, and I previously partitioned it with four master partitions:
1- with type id fo W95 FAT 32 (meant for ReactOS);
2- for Haiku;
3- for my main system: Linux
4- for the extended partition, rest of the disk.

What should I do to try to solve this?

It's probably not finding the drive because of the partitions. Between that fact that you need to repartition the hard drive, and the fact that ReactOS is in alpha stage, you shouldn't install ReactOS on a hard drive that has anything else on it. Use a new hard drive, or a hard drive that has no data that you care about.

Check your BIOS and set your motherboard's SATA controller to "IDE compatibility mode".

1GB? Or did you mean 1TB?

1 GB must be really old (I've got some 10 GB ones, and even those are, like, 8 years old or something). Maybe there are just some probs with your HD? Or do you mean by 'last iso' that the former one worked?
