ReactOS live image isn't a bootable one?
I was trying to test reactOS with a Mac, but using the bootCD did not work. So I downloaded the live image but I couldn't boot it. I later found out, when using etcher.io, this:

CORE-13598

Please state what environment you were testing in!Abequinn wrote:I was trying to test reactOS with a Mac, but using the bootCD did not work. So I downloaded the live image but I couldn't boot it.
1. Virtual machine?
2. Real hardware?
3. The specification of the Mac you are testing with?
4. What revision number or release number you have tried?
You may just have got a corrupted ISO or the Mac's hardware is not supported!
Try with the latest build from here, currently 75416.
Use a virtual machine, VirtualBox.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.

It is as bootable as the Windows 2003 images. And we don't currently support correctly UEFI boot.Abequinn wrote:I was trying to test reactOS with a Mac, but using the bootCD did not work. So I downloaded the live image but I couldn't boot it. [...]

NOTE THAT I WAS ABLE TO BOOT UP REACTOS IN EARLIER BUILDS...
I am testing in real hardware, and I am using the current (call it stable) build.
MacBookAir6,1.
I will try testing the latest build right now

Re: ReactOS live image isn't a bootable one?
I used revision 75422, liveCD.
When using etcher on a liveUSB and using the regular liveCD (not debug) option, it would give me this blue screen:

When choosing the LiveCD (debug) option, it would hang on this screen:

So a semi-success.

Re: ReactOS live image isn't a bootable one?
Ok, so the CD itself boots, but you get the well-known ReactOS problems with USB or sound drivers...
Re: ReactOS live image isn't a bootable one?
Does it show something else below this line? Like breaking into the kernel debugger? If so I would advise you to take a picture of it, and also take a backtrace (command "bt" without the quotes, at the kernel debugger prompt).
Re: ReactOS live image isn't a bootable one?
I wasn't able to do "bt", but I do have a video of it

Did I just read Thunderbolt there? I am very surprised that it does even try to boot on such recent hardware,
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.
