Security

Post by Wol » Tue Jun 19, 2018 4:56 am

I applaud the effort that many individuals are obviously putting into this alternative to Microsoft's increasingly intrusive and buggy OS, without departing from the Windows style.

However, given that Windows has always had security issues, even today, how is ReactOS going to be any different and has the team robust plans for user protection from Malware?

In reality NT acrhitecture has much more security than any unix clone. your set of statements is a stupid parroting copied from MS haters' and linux zealots' psychopathic resources. It is as much irrelevant as it's even not worth of replying to, except pointing you at the stupidity you have been formulataing your senteces with.

Wear a tin foil, kiss Torvalds portrait and use that crap they throw at you because you know, for you - it's exactly what is needed and what you deserve - "teh most securitest os in teh world. bug free from da begin, security full before it was born" and, of course, forget about "windows style" (read the usability, comfort of using, feature set, aesthetics and millions of other things). that's for "morons". there are "so many bugs" over there and they increase in number... you know, bang your linux console or ugly GUI, that's for those freed. leave your applauses for Erik, forgot the surname, that dude, that babbles much but whose works are rejected again and again. but he writes walls of gnu/insanity, has to be your role model. :)

PS. Nothing repels more from desire to do something for this project than gnu/idiots with their stinky repetitive tales.

Ironically, when ROS gets to a point where Windows malware affects it in the same was as it would if it were Windows official will be a good day.

You must remember that right now the devs' main goal is to be as compatible as possible with Windows NT. To some degree, that even means implementing the bugs, flaws, and vulnerabilities of Windows. Of course, in the long term, the goal is to eventually improve wherever they can, but that's still off into the future.

There are plenty of other ways in which ROS will come to differentiate itself, but until then, working in ROS should be as similar to working in Windows as possible (viruses included).

Let's ask the ReactOS Wiki about security! https://www.reactos.org/wiki/ReactOS#Secure
