Not all forum notifications (about replays) arrived in my gmail inbox...
...not even in my spam folder...
Seems they get lost in the spam protection before the spam folder...
(Think the sysmin configuring the mail server should know why this can happen...)

Re: Forum Notifications & Gmail
If some (but not all) are arriving in your inbox or spam folder, then it's not likely something at the sever level, but perhaps something in the content of the mails themselves.
In order to really dig into the issue, we'd need to know the address from which the mail is sent. That should allow us to look up the MX record, SPF, etc.
It would also be good to know who your email provider is; Google, Microsoft, your ISP, etc?

Re: Forum Notifications & Gmail
I get emails from JIRA, but I've never turned on notifications about replies in the forum. Can you tell me what address send the emails when they do arrive?karlexceed wrote:we'd need to know the address from which the mail is sent.
Just to cover my bases, I checked reactos.org:
- MX record says email server is iserv.reactos.org
- It looks like IServ is an all-in-one server solution for education groups
- SPF record checks out good across the board, no issues there.
So, if an email is coming from <anything>@reactos.org, it should at least make it past the basic filters on the receiving email server.

The former emails came from administrator@reactos.org...
They all started in the about with 'Topic reply notification - "'...

Re: Forum Notifications & Gmail
That could be it - If phpBB (the forum) is sending the email from an MTA on the webserver, then the SPF lookup will fail. The webserver and the email server for reactos.org are at different IPs.
EDIT: According to HeisSpiter on IRC, all email would come from iserv.reactos.org, therefore the SPF will check out. They also said that anything outbound for Gmail has been sent successfully by the ReactOS email server. Your issue seems to be stemming from somewhere else.
