How about to select a shell on the installation of ReactOS?

Yeah, that'd be great

Just Choose the Shell?

Postby Jonas » Mon Nov 20, 2006 2:03 am

Hey. I just thought about why dont you guys import an options to choose the shell you want in?
Like in Linux? When you look around there a some many users with soo many ideas. Why not give them all space for them? I'm also one of them and im thinking to make one for reactos like i started to make one for Windows.
I think it would be also a great opportunity for developers. Besides, the "best" of them would be the most famous afterall. So anyone could see what the users more like.

I voted yes (i'm a SharpE lover, check out the screenshots galleries), but this is an old discussion: official ROS will just use ROSExplorer. Anyway 3rd party distros could implement this. Good luck !

ReactOS should have its own shell (one is enough)
It the user wants another shell, it can be installed
afterwards.

Kinda off topic, but still related.

Anyone tried to run explorer.exe off another windows version? Just curious. I can't run reactos at a decent speed atm as I use a ppc mac.
