video drivers???

Hello.

I just set up ReactOS and installed it on my computer. The install went well, but whenever I try to start my computer with ROS I get the following message on a blue scree:

A problem has been detected and ReactOS has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
VIDEO_DRIVER_INIT_FAILURE

and a bunch more stuff after that....

What should I do now? lol

Mind you, ReactOS is alpha, it won't work on most computers.

What is your computer (with model number), and what video card do you have?

Which version? 0.3.8 or an SVN build? If 0.3.8 is what you used, try using an SVN build to see if your problem has been fixed yet.

If SVN builds still don't work, try using the VGA driver instead of the VESA Driver in first-stage setup.

Ok..... I dont have a lot of time to post so I'll just say that I tried the SVN build and in VGA mode.... still no luck.
And yes, I'm using 0.3.8.
As per my system, I'll check when I get home and report in. I built it myself so I can't just say what model my computer is exept most of the parts are for a Compaq Presario 5000.

The Presario 5000 Series had many kinds of hardware ...

Maybe you know the name / chip of the VGA-Card ?
