Even if it would be possible...

Possible, but its still outdated and is no aim for a Project trying to let run recent HW and SW onto it

Dave, it's like with updates from BlackWingCat (anyone know the guy?). He's patching files from recent versions of Windows to work on 2000. Nothing more, nothing less.

I do read the commits, daily. I was really meaning to ask how much MP support is in Wine. If it is in there, we can use their MP code if we aren't already. I was asking if they had MP support, or if they simply inherited what Linux already provided or whatever. I know much of our code is from Wine, and I read about the Wine-syncs all the time. I wasn't saying we should do anything different, I was just asking about how well Wine supports multi-core/hyperthreading/etc. Now do you follow?

Maybe I am wrong, but the MP is done by the Linux kernel not directly by Wine

Exactly. Same for us. NTOSKRNL and HAL need to do the work for us.

My understanding is that wine implements the multithreaded aspects of win32 very poorly. They're basically all blocked on the wineserver process, which itself may actually only be single threaded.
