Mono .Net with 0.3.14 - any luck?

Postby rosfanatic » Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:00 pm

I've been trying to install and test the mono framework with each new release, with varying levels of success. In my mind, getting this framework to function could open the door for a lot of of .Net based apps to then work in Reactos.
For the latest version, it seems to get further along but I'm locking up at various points in the install.
Im curious if anyone has had better luck than I? Actually get a mono based app to launch?

I've tried to install various .NET frameworks, and no success. Don't remember the details right now, but the .NET install just wasn't happening.

.Net currently does not install because the C++ runtime does not install
Once the C++ runtime installs and works, I am sure we will try again.

No one is interested in your pessimistic comments. As long as you have some thing useful to say, feel free to post. Otherwise just stay quiet. As long as you have no clue what a big task this project is, I suggest to keep such comments for you

EmuandCo, not exactly a helpful response here.

Perhaps he was browsing multiple topics and posted in the wrong one.

A bug in http://jira.reactos.org with respectful debug logs would be useful (if there is no such bug already there).

There are already 2 easily findable ones through search:

CORE-6075
CORE-6076

Although the search system doesn't seem to be very good.

I've managed to install MONO and run some applications, including Windows.Forms (buggy, doesn't draw correctly). I also have managed to compile, but only when ReactOS is in debug mode! Otherwise, doesn't compile. It seens the problems is when doing some memory allocations.

By the way, I just tested compile today from trunk, and the results are the same. Cannot compile applications, only run.

Yeah. Compiling is a "stressing" task for ReactOS. Does still show the same drawing bugs when running the Visual Studio app?
