I don't know if this is related but I've got a similiar error...
I start a browser called OffByOne and then exit it. Then I open the task 
manager and the process is still listed there. When I kill the process I get:
Assertion 'Class->refs == 0' failed at ./subsys/win32k/ntuser/class.c line 79
