the problem is in that RegQueryInfoKey does not return ERROR_SUCCESS, so i guess
there is a problem in RegQueryInfoKey implementation. 
 
RegQueryInfoKey passed parameters that you may be interested into: 
lpcsubkeys = NULL, others are all pointing at dwords.
