Ah, you are correct, as_echo32 appears broken under my NT4 install.  Never tried
that I guess. FWIW, under NT4, the two simplt32.exe return 56 and 112 when
connecting over localhost to as_echo32. When connecting to my linux echo server,
they both got 112, and were able to run fine.

So I just tried two connections to my linux server under ROS and it seemed to
work ok, even with the same decriptor numbers.  I would like to see the traffic
under a sniffer to be sure. I will investigate more.
