Tested in bootcd-30778-dbg.iso. It doesn't seem to happen in vmware with its
video driver installed.

To reproduce the problem:
Open device manager.
Expand hard disk controllers (click on the plus sign once).
Now collapse it (click again on it), now the tree is displayed wrongly (see
attached picture).
