I find a 2008-july wine patch which might be related to this issue:
It patches the following wine's file: dlls/msvcrt/wcs.c

The 2008-07-16  Jon Griffiths' wine patch is available at:

this patch is described as:
msvcrt: Fix exponents in *printf family.

However, I have no idea if it is related, or not, to this bug.
