I wish someone had told me this before they had simply told me to just get a
null modem cable.  spent a lot of money for nothing.  wired all wrong.  weird
in fact.  I wouldn't call it a null modem cable because it doesn't work.

I will see if Radio Shack sells the parts I need or not.
