1. 
label /?
causes a help message to be displayed.  at the end of the display is a square
box character.

2.
according to the help, I should be able to put in an optional label (try this:)
label c:blat
instead of doing it, it prompts you for a label.

3. 
after entering the label,  system hangs and video goes haywire (turns black or
you get lots of bit-splatter-wipe interesting color patterns).
and the system has no label afterwards.
