during Setup, it's good to create this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
With value-name           : SystemRoot 
and value-data REG_SZ     : c:\ReactOS (based on folder installation choice)

some application retrieve "windows" folder-location using it.
