This happens under QEMU with -smp 2 and SMP kernel.
FreeLDR starts and loads the kernel, then in KiRosPrepareForSystemStartup,
while calling Ke386SetInterruptDescriptorTable (lidt) the system reboots.

I isolated the problem using a for(;;); with an #ifdef CONFIG_SMP to reproduce
the problem. Everything works ok with up kernel.
