This is a duplicate of bug 4621.

I have tried with this information you gave but couldn't replicate the issue.
It could be due to some timing perhaps related to a "slow" processor.

It would be nice if we could replicate the problem, please go to your VM
settings and start changing one setting at a time to see if you notice any
difference. (kind of IDE controller, with/without extra sata controller, etc.).
Are you using an image file for the installation or is that a burned CD you
access through your host?
