I`m sorry, i tried to replicate your settings on Vmware workstation 7.1.2 and
using rev.48959 i cant hit that problem. ROS is often locking up on non-debug,
opera itself is hanging and the file transfer breaks up every few-teen
megabytes, but it can be always resumed. I managed to download a whooping 571MB
of DirectX sdk, just to make sure its possible. Not in one part ofc, it took
tens of resumings and considerable amount of time, but still...

If this issue is not random and it happens at every install of this rev, can
you perhaps try to regress-test it and find specific revision that started this
bug?
