Just tested r54059.  Still getting an exception in explorer.  Also, the other
problems are also there - no icons on the desktop and "ghost" taskbar items
left after the exception.  The taskbar items left behind after the exception
are 2 buttons with "explorer," and 1 button to the exception, neither of which
can be closed/removed from the tray.  Still had to use the browse feature to
get to the files since there was no My Computer on the desktop.  The Run
feature also produced the exception.
