Abiword installing the vcredist x86 2008 runtime

vcredist x86 2008 runtime is installed by Abiword (see abiword-vcred.png).
I have tried installing vcredist.exe from MS, with Abiword installed and this
gives a window which gives a choice to repair. So I have tried to repair
vcredist and the installation starts but quickly disappears.
I still get the missing msvcp90.dll missing error, but no runtime error.
OOO and LibreOffice still give the missing msvcr90.dll missing error.
The only thing that I have not tried, is to install the vcredist x86 2008
runtime before installing Abiword. But will this alter anything?
