Yes. Samba TNG's smbclient compiles basically out-of-the-box (cvs) and
works. Testing it on an NT5 machine revealed it was quite fast too - IIRC I
got around 70Mbps copying a file from another NT5 running MS' SMB server on
fast ethernet, using even a debug build of smbclient.

There are discussions about creating a filesystem driver for the client, and
to port the server parts too.
