If people want to implement NTFS so badly why not use something like ReiserFS4 for the actual fs, but write a VFS driver to be loaded to act like NTFS. Since ReiserFS supports permissions and things of that nature it should be interesting to see the result. Filesystem encryption could possibly be implemented for files or folders too. Just a thought.
