Hello,
it seems, the bochs in the last release package has been compiled using cygwin without optimisations. This results in a very poor performance. It's takes twice the time to boot ReactOS compared to Bochs version 2.0 downloaded from the bochs site.
Now I build a bochs version "2.1.pre2" from CVS with activated optimisation using VC++ 7.2. It's similar fast as the old bochs 2.0.
Btw: This VC-version is only 0.79 MB, where gcc needs 1.3 MB.
I put it here in the web so you can download it: http://www.sky.franken.de/explorer/bochs.zip
We should use this version for the next release package, provided there will not be a new offical bochs relase "2.1" till then.
Regards,
Martin
