[ros-kernel] Starting a service/running an executable at startup

Hi all

Whats the easiest way for a user to start a service / run an
executable 
at startup - without modifying the code?

Do we have a working equivalent of the key 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run?
