This should work as you described. If your cd-drive is d:, then a simple
'd:' on the prompt should change to the cd-drive ans 'dir' should list its
content. This is how it works on my machine.

This looks like an issue with your cd-drive. There are several drives buggy
ATA/ATAPI drives that do not behave as expected. Unfortunately, I am unable
to fix this bug because I do not have access to a buggy drive.

Would you help me to fix this bug? Do you have any programming skills?
