After a question or two about this on IRC, I think a clarification for
our non-native English speakers is in order.  We certainly don't
literally require anyone to read that book, but I would highly recommend
it if you have a copy at your disposal.  

We are, of course, happy to have any motivated and skilled developer,
and you can certainly learn much of what you need to know from reading
the source and free resources like the SDK and DDK.

Sorry if this seems like splitting hairs, but I don't want people to get
the impression that we require purchasing of books, no matter how much I
happen to like them.
