[ros-kernel] Microsoft Give-Away

Having finally got round to reading the EULA (haven't installed it yet...I
use VS.NET anyhow) I see that they restrict your rights only on the
"redistributables". Section 2 defines the "redistributables" as being:
(a) The sample code provided in the package (presumably API demos etc.)
(b) Redistriutable Code-General (as listed in REDIST.TXT in the package,
the ones most likely to affect ROS seem to be the ATL, MFC & MSVCRT related
files)
As far as I can see the "redistributables" are the only things that are
affected with the clause that limits the platform (Section 3.1.ii : "that
the Redistributables only operate in conjunction with Microsoft Windows
platforms"). There does not seem to be a limitation on non-MS code that has
been compiled with the compiler, as far as I can see in the license.
Presumably this is not a problem if we're using our own C runtime (or GCCs
or whoever)? I don't see that section 3.2 would affect us either if we did
something like this.
Regards, Nick

That's bad. Anyone else downloaded it and read EULA? What do you think?
Maybe we can have go-arounds? Like ReactOS supports Windows Platform, etc.
With the best regards,

Hi,
the only problem with this compiler the EULA which states that you can
only use it to create applications which run on the Windows Plattform
only. Thus IMHO Reactos cannot use it.
